Champions Krav Maga Academy was founded in 2022 by Max McGregor, 2nd Dan Black Belt under Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu, and a former member of the Australian Defence Force. It was established to provide realistic and effective self-defence training that is designed for real-world applications and everyday situations through Modern Krav Maga. At CKMA, we teach self-defence to keep people safe, become confident, and have the skills and capabilities to protect themselves and others. Champions Krav Maga Academy is affiliated with Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu. Gendai-Ryu, which means “Modern System”, has adopted a multidisciplinary approach to training. It combines multiple martial arts, creating a Mixed Modern Combatives system that creates a versatile, well-rounded, and effective version Modern Krav Maga. Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu’s head of system is Dr. Gavriel Schneider, a 7th Degree Black Belt who is one of Australia’s most experienced self defence instructors, with a PhD in best practice use of force and defensive tactics training methodology. Modern Krav Maga allows us to draw on a variety proven martial arts systems and incorporate the best self-defence methods into our curriculum. Because there are no rules, mats, or referees in real life situations, we train with a realistic mindset. Over the past two decades, Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu have been tested by military, police, specialised security and everyday people hundreds of time. It has been credited for saving many lives. The Gendai-Ryu Krav Maga & Jiu-Jitsu System is the best combination for serious martial artists who want street practical self defense but also want to be rounded and competent martial artists.
